President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of a new board and management team for the National Hajj Commission (NAHCON), awaiting confirmation by the Nigerian Senate.
In order to ensure hitch-free and seamless 2024 Hajj operations, the president appointed the following persons to the Board of NAHCON. This includes MalamĀ
Jalal Ahmad Arabi as the Chairman. Until is presently serving in acting capacity as the chairman. Others newly appointed include: Aliu Abdulrazaq as Commissioner, Policy, Personnel, & Finance, Prince Anofi Elegushi Commissioner Operations and Professor Abubakar A. Yagawal as Commissioner, Planning & Research.
Amongst the Board are also Zonal Representatives being Dr. Muhammad Umaru Ndagi from the North Central, Abba Jato Kala who is of the North East
and Sheikh Muhammad Bin Othman North West. Other members are Tajudeen Oladejo Abefe South West, Aishat Obi Ahmed South East, Zainab Musa South South, while Professor Musa Inuwa Fodio from Jama’atul Nasril Islam and Professor Adedimeji Mahfouz Adebola is of the Supreme Council on Islamic Affairs.
The President has however, mandated the appointees to dedicate themselves to the task of ensuring that operations of the National Hajj Commission are more efficient, transparent, and responsive to the needs of Nigerians.
