A Public Relations expert and the Chairman/Publisher of the Blueprint Newspapers, Alhaji Idris Mohammed, has taken over the ownership of the Abuja based Kings Broadcasting Limited (WE FM radio) even as a relaunch dinner held Wednesday night.
The dinner afforded the new owner opportunity to bring together clients and friends, regulators, industry doyens, and media buying agencies, in order to put forth a reloaded WE FM.
Addressing the stakeholders at the dinner, Alhaji Idris said the media outfit is ready for business, “and the deepening of conversations around our principal objective as a promoter of the peace, unity, equity, and growth of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“Indeed, there’s a new synergy at all levels at WE FM, from the board, to management and staff, geared towards the broadening of our audience and market, churning great content, seamless operations, leveraging on technology, professionalism and corporate governance.
“Having navigated the fields of corporate advertising, public relations and newspaper publishing in the last 25 years, I am signposting my foray into the broadcast sector as a tested media stakeholder with considerable understanding of the market forces, audiences, challenges, time honoured responsibility, and government regulations.
“The WE FM mission is clear: to sustain niche as Nigeria’s leading Talk Radio with a strong market appeal to public and private sector businesses, technocrats, professional class, academics, youths, women, NGOs, the Nigerian public, and the diplomatic community.”
Idris also revealed plans to have footprints through strategic investments in radio stations across key states in Nigeria, with a clear vision to achieve broader market reach and spread unique quality content, technology and professional ethics in accordance to the framework governing the Nigerian broadcasting sector.
He, however, appealed to all the stakeholders to support the vision so as to satisfy and sustain operations.
“This new management at WE FM hereby seeks your support to sustain operations, satisfy our numerous stakeholders, employ more Nigerians, do more trainings, pep our frank conversations, entertain, and sow the seed of love of country and humanity amongst Nigerians. Please do business with us,” he appealed.
The dinner was well attended by government officials, media owners, regulators, business partners, mexia buying agencies, clients among others.
