The Akin Fadeyi Foundation (AFF) in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Commission has launched its anti-corruption Programme in form of an app to track and deal with incidences of corrupt practices.
Supported by MacArthur Foundation, the app code-named FlagIT will enable citizens create and send report of corruption to organizations and public agencies and receive feedback instantly as was demonstrated at the event.
Its other functions include monitoring the status of reported cases, allows for digital storage and retrieval of reported cases and prompt feedback on resolved cases among other functions.
AFF is the initiator of drama skits,Curruption:Not in my country, to combat curruption,increase transparency and accountability in Nigeria.
The Public and Media launch of FlagIT has as its theme: Why Institutional Collaborations Against Corruption Holds Enduring Benefits brought together FRSC Corps Marshal, Boboye Oyeyemi, representatives of Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Prof Itse Sagay and United Nations Office on Drugs and Crimes.
Dr Kole Shettima, Co-Director of MacArthur Foundation, Simon Kolawole, Chairman, Board of Trustees, AFF and publisher of The Cable and Dapo Olurunyomi, Publisher of Premium Times among others were present to lend their weighty voices to the Programme.
At least five anti-Curruption skits were presented to the audience to drive home the core message of tracking corruption while the FagIT demo presentation was downloaded free from google App Store to demonstrate its functionality.
