National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has concluded airlift of Nigerian pilgrims from 2019 Hajj back home.
The last flight to Nigeria, Max Air NGL 2124, landed in Abuja yesterday, signifying the end of the 2019 Hajj operations.
Head, public affairs of the commission, Fatima Usara, disclosed that the exercise, which started on August 17, lasted 26 days. Usara quoted chairman of the commission, Abdullahi Muhammad, as lauding the states’ pilgrims’ welfare board officials and executives for their patience and support to their respective pilgrims.
About 65,000 Nigerians performed this year’s hajj; 45,000 went through state pilgrims’ boards while the licensed tour operators facilitated others’ trips.
