The Board of the National Broadcasting Commission has approved the appointment of Mrs. Franca Aiyetan as the new spokesperson for the Commission.
According to a statement issued by the commission on Thursday in Abuja, Aiyetan resumed as the New Director, Public Affairs on 14th August, 2019.
Aiyetan who is an accomplished broadcaster joined the NBC in 1995.
The statement revealed that the new spokesperson before her appointment, was the Zonal Director of the Abuja Zone in the last 6 years where she raised the stakes of broadcast regulation.
“Mrs. Franca Aiyetan, born on 6th February, 1965, started her broadcasting career with Radio Nigeria before joining the NBC in 1995. She resumed as a Senior Public Affairs Officer on Salary Grade Level 10 and was transferred as an Assistant Chief Public Affairs Officer to Mainstream Monitoring and Enforcement in 2006 for better capacity utilization.
“A thespian by training and passion, she is a graduate of performing Arts from the University of Ilorin, a Masters Degree holder in Media Arts from the University of Abuja and an Advance Diploma in Marketing from the University of Lagos.
“She is a member of several professional bodies including Society of Nigerian Theatre Artists (SONTA), Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM).
“She has also attended several Management trainings one of which is a Certificate Programme in Management Development in the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa.
“Mrs. Franca Aiyetan resumed as the New Director, Public Affairs on 14th August, 2019. Before her appointment, she was the Zonal Director of the Abuja Zone in the last 6 years where she raised the stakes of broadcast regulation.
“Mrs. Franca Aiyetan is renowned for her penchant for hardwork and exceeding expectations,” the statement read.
