Senator Hope Uzodimma of the All Progressives Congress (APC), the governor of Imo State, easily secured reelection. Uzodimma won all 27 of the state's local councils, according to the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, Returning Officer, Abayomi Fasina. With 540,308 votes, he defeated Senators Athan Achonu of the Labour Party (LP) and Samuel Anyanwu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who both received 71,503 votes and 64,081 votes, respectively.
