Just in: Fire Guts Female Hostels at Muslim Community College of Health, Katsina

A fire outbreak has razed the female hostels of the Muslim Community College of Health Sciences and Technology, Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State.

The incident occurred in the early hours of today at the permanent site of the institution, sending panic across the campus. The blaze reportedly engulfed sections of the female hostel blocks before emergency responses were initiated.

An eyewitness, who is a student of the college, said the fire was triggered by a gas cylinder explosion in one of the rooms.
“The fire started when a gas cylinder exploded after it was left on while cooking in the hostel,” the student explained.

As of the time of filing this report, the extent of damage and whether there were casualties remain unclear. Authorities are expected to commence investigations to ascertain the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
