Kwankwaso: I Can’t Join APC Blindly Without Any Agreement

The national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has set fresh conditions for any potential return to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a video shared on Facebook by his aide, Saifullahi Hassan, Kwankwaso said he would not rejoin the APC without a clear and concrete agreement that spells out his role, the party’s direction, and plans for the welfare of ordinary Nigerians, particularly his supporters.

The former two-term governor of Kano State stressed that he is opposed to joining any party without prior understanding and consensus, insisting that clarity must come before commitment.

“I will not go to the APC blindly. I must be clearly informed of my role, the direction of the journey, and the fate of our plans for the common people, including the position of our supporters and the Kano State Government. That is my stand,” Kwankwaso said.

He was reacting to reports that some party loyalists had been urging Kano State Governor Abba Yusuf and his political mentor, Kwankwaso, to lead their supporters into the APC. While the governor reportedly heeded the calls, the move was said to be against Kwankwaso’s wishes.
