Rivers Assembly Hatches Fresh Impeachment Plans Against Governor Fubara

The political landscape in Rivers State took a dramatic turn on Thursday as members of the State House of Assembly commenced impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his Deputy, Ngozi Oduh.

At a plenary session chaired by Speaker Martins Amaewhule, the House Majority Leader, Major Jack, formally read a notice outlining allegations of gross misconduct against Governor Fubara. 

The document, endorsed by 26 lawmakers, claims the governor acted in ways that contravene the Nigerian Constitution.
Speaker Amaewhule stated that the notice would be formally served on the governor within seven days.

In the same session, Deputy Majority Leader Linda Stewart read a notice detailing allegations of gross misconduct against Deputy Governor Ngozi Oduh.
