
Worshippers Killed as Suicide Bomber Attacks Mosque in Borno

Worshippers have been reportedly killed and severely injured as suicide bomber detonated explosives at Gambarou Jumu’at mosque in Maiduguri, the capital of Borno state.
Some of the worshippers in the mosque, who fortunately escaped the attack, narrated the assailants sneaked into the mosque and exploded the bomb when the worshipper are in the midst of conducting the Maghrib congregational prayer.
“The bomber detonated when the first raka’at of the Maghrib prayer was observed. Many worshippers died, others sustained various injuries,” he said
However, there was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack, but among the suspects will be the Boko Haram armed group, which has launched a large number of suicide attacks in region over the past few months.
