NAF, ground troops kill 30 terrorists in Borno after heavy airstrikes

More than 30 terrorists were wiped out in a blistering joint assault by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) and ground troops during a fierce battle in Borno State.

The decisive strike unfolded on Friday at Dar-El-Jamal village in Bama Local Government Area after terrorists launched a heavy attack on friendly forces.

Acting on urgent intelligence, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai swiftly deployed surveillance and strike aircraft to the scene.

According to Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF spokesperson, the aircrew first established contact with ground troops in Banki, who confirmed reinforcements were racing to the frontline. On arrival, ISR scans revealed scores of insurgents fleeing northwards into the bushes.

In a barrage of three successive, precision airstrikes, the terrorists were cut down in their tracks, with more than 30 neutralised instantly. Soon after, reinforcements stormed the area, secured the ground, and stabilised the situation.

Ejodame hailed the crushing blow as proof of the seamless synergy between air power and ground forces, stressing that joint action remains key to dismantling terrorist networks.

He reaffirmed the NAF’s commitment to sustaining relentless pressure on insurgents, safeguarding vulnerable communities, and restoring enduring peace across the North East and beyond.

“The NAF, working closely with sister services and security agencies, will continue deliberate, coordinated actions to ensure the safety and security of all Nigerians,” he assured.
