The Inspector General of Police, IGP Baba Usman Alkali, has directed that all 17 local government area secretariats in Plateau State be sealed.
This was revealed on Thursday in a statement from the state’s police public relations officer, Alabo Alfred, and signed by the commissioner of police for Plateau State, Bartholomew Onyeka.
According to the statement, the measure was taken to avoid a breakdown in law and order after tension erupted over the state governor of Caleb Mutfwang’s choice of new leadership in the impacted council regions.
