How Tinubu’s wife knelt down, begged me not to tell the press that Tinubu sent me out of a meeting- Ojikutu

Former deputy governor of Lagos State, Alhaja Sinatu Ojikutu, has opened up on how Remi Tinubu, the wife of the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, knelt down and begged her not to inform the press when her husband sent her out of a meeting in Lagos.

She said that when Tinubu was having issues with former President Olusegun Obasanjo, he thought she was supporting Obasanjo, but that was not the case. And that when Obasanjo visited Lagos for an event and she was invited, Tinubu walked her out of the meeting when he saw her there. She said that she was ready to talk to the pressmen about what Tinubu did to her, but when she got outside and met Tinubu’s wife, she knelt down and told her not to let the press know. She disclosed this during an interview with The Punch on Saturday.

She said – “I have no personal issues with him (Tinubu). He misunderstood my presence at a courtesy call by former President Olusegun Obasanjo when I was in the Federal Character Commission and decided to strike. He struck and took my land. I was in a different political party anyway so we were not friends. All that time he was going through his problems with Obasanjo, he probably believed that I was taking sides but I wasn’t.

“So Obasanjo visited Lagos for a programme and I was invited. I entered the meeting and he walked me out of the meeting, but interestingly I didn’t speak with the press because I met his (Tinubu’s) wife outside and she knelt down saying that I should not inform the press. I was ready to do that but what she said calmed me down.”

Speaking further, she said that she does not believe Tinubu is qualified to be her President, although she added that she has nothing personal against him.
