EPL: Again, Iheanacho wins man of the match award as Leicester City smash Spurs

Super Eagles forward Kelechi Iheanacho picked his second successive man-of-the-match award in the colors of Leicester City as he helped them to a comeback 4-1 win at home to Tottenham Hotspurs.

With two goals and 2 assists in his last two competitive games for the Foxes, the former Manchester City attacker lead the line for only his 3rd Premier League start with the hosts hoping to consolidate on last week’s 4-2 win at Aston Villa.

They however found themselves behind inside the opening quarter of an hour as Rodrigo Bentancur benefited from a lucky ball to put Spurs 1-0 up much to the frustration of the home fans.

Senegalese midfielder Nampalys Mendy equalized with a lovely strike just inside the box to make it 1-1 on 23 minutes before Iheanacho set up James Maddison two minutes later to turn the tie and put the Foxes 2-1 up.

The Nigerian was not done as he grabbed a goal for himself twisting and turning before finding the near post deep into first half stoppage time to make it 3-1 and send his side into half time with a comfortable lead.

Fellow Eagle Wilfred Ndidi then came on for goal scorer Mendy after the hour mark before Kelechi was also substituted for Jamie Vardy in the 77th minute as Harvey Barnes wrapped up the win with a fourth goal nine minutes from time to complete a one-sided 4-1 win for Leicester City.

With a goal and an assist and a rating of 8.4, the 26-year-old edged out James Maddison for the player of the match with the Foxes moving up to 13 on the log standings with 24 points from 22 games.
