A Kano Chief Magistrate Court on Wednesday remanded the Chinese national, Geng Quarong suspected to have killed his ex-Nigerian lover, Ummukulsum Buhari in correctional facility.
Quanrong, 47 an illegal alien was said to have gone to the residence of Ummukulsum Buhari, 23 last Friday around 9:00pm attacked her with a sharp knife inflicting deep cut on her neck and some other parts of her body, which led to her death.
Quarong was arraigned before the court by the Kano State Police Commissioner on a one count charge bothering on culpable homicide contrary to section 221 of the penal code.
The Presiding Judge, Hanif Sanusi Yusuf ordered his remand in the correctional facility pending legal advice from the state ministry of justice.
Yusuf however adjourned the case to 13th October, 2022.
