Tinubu leads governors to visit Jonathan

Tinubu with Jonathan and others

Two weeks after visiting former President, Olusegun Obasanjo at his Presidential Library in Ota, Ogun State, the Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, led a delegation to the Abuja home of another former President, Goodluck Jonathan, on Tuesday night.

In a demonstrable confirmation of the saying that in politics there is no permanent enemy or friend, but permanent interests, Tinubu, who was instrumental to the ouster of the former President in 2015, reportedly paid a scheduled visit to the former President and held a meeting with him behind closed doors in Jonathan’s residence, in apparent continuation of his nationwide consultation with critical stakeholders.

The PUNCH reports that the former Governor of Lagos State and National Leader of the APC, was accompanied by his running mate, Senator Kashim Shetimma, led a delegation of five APC governors. They included the Governor of Plateau State and Director-General of his Presidential Campaign Council, Simon Lalong; his Ogun State counterpart, Dapo Abiodun; Zamfara State Governor, Bello Matawale; Jigawa State Governor, Abubakar Badaru and Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.
