Timi Dakolo slam APC Convention organizers for using his song without permission

Weeks after being slammed for singing his well loved song, ‘Great Nation’ at the ceremony of Atiku Abubakar’s declaration for 2023 presidency, Nigerian singer, Timi Dakolo has called out the organizers of  All Progressives Congress (APC) convention for using the same song without his permission.

Last night during the All Progressives Congress special convention to elect the party’s presidential flagbearer for the 2023 general elections, Timi Dakolo’s song ‘Great Nation’ was played as Nollywood actors were presented on stage at the convention ground.

Hearing his song being played, without his permission, Dakolo took to his social media handles to call out the convention organizers, saying:

“Why Use an Artist Song without their permission in a rally or campaign. The things people get away with in this Country called Nigeria. Actually this is the second time.”

It had been earlier reported that some Nigerian youths expressed their disappointment online after singer, Timi Dakolo chose to sing his well loved and accepted national song ‘Great Nation’ at the ceremony of Atiku Abubakar’s declaration for 2023 presidency, on Wednesday, March 23, 2022.

Speaking out on the backlash, the singer who was unashamed and unremorseful vowed to repeat it again. He promised to do more singing at rallys and collect his money.
