Although the public relations officer of the State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, could not confirm the arrest of the ESN agent as his phone was not reachable, police source, a superior officer confirmed the arrest.
The senior police officer who preferred not to be named said, “An Udebuan Sage Chubueze ‘M’, a senior IPOB / ESN commander was arrested today (Saturday).
“The suspect was arrested with a gunshot wound on October 29, 2021. A search was carried out of his house in Ekwulobia and Nnewi where four AK-47s, two with automatic pump and ammunition were recovered.
“The suspect confessed to carrying out several attacks on police premises and being responsible for the deaths of several police officers and members of the navy. We welcome this breakthrough as it will further weaken the strength of IPOB / ESN against the security men, ”he said.
