The Senior Special Assistant to President on Agriculture, Andrew Kwasari, has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the approval of immediate disbursements of fertilizer subsidy fund to small Holder vulnerable farmers in the country.
According to him, the disbursements will be in batches, starting with Batch A, covering 1,209,143 farmers, with total subsidy of N6,154,802,000.
Meanwhile, farmers have been enumerated in the data base of Federal ministry of Agriculture to enable them source fertilizer in the open market.
These farmers have been advised to open bank accounts and get their BVN ready to be a beneficiary from the scheme.
However, farmers who are yet to be added to the scheme are encouraged to cooperate with the ADP’s to get on board.
He also commended the efforts of the state programme managers, master trainers and Ex- Npower beneficiaries for including farmers in the scheme.
