Breaking: DSS confirms raid on Sunday Igboho’s residence, arrests 13, recovers heavy weapons

The Department of State Services  (DSS) has said it’s operatives in an early morning pperation raided the residence of Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho, leading to the arrest of 13 people suspected to be his cohorts.

Parading the suspects, Thursday night at the DSS Headquarters, in Abuja, the Service Spokesperson, Dr. Peter Afunanya, said the DSS team came under heavy gun attack by nine men suspected to Igboho’s guards.

According to Afunanya, “The gun duel which lasted for an hour offered Igboho the chance to escape.”

He listed items recovered from the raid to include: seven AK-47 rifles, three pump action guns, 30 fully harhed AK-47 magazines, 5,000 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, two pistols, 50 cartridges and 18 walkie-talkies.
