Gunmen on Tuesday morning killed the Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, AIG Christoper Dega (Rtd).
A report by The Nation said “he was shot in the chest several times by gunmen” in Jos, capital of neighbouring Plateau State.
“AIG Dega had a brilliant career in the Nigerian Police Force and was twice Commissioner of Police in Borno and Edo states.
“He hailed from Katsina Ala local government area in Benue State,” the report said.
The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Terver Akase, confirmed that Dega was shot dead.
