Veritynewonline has reliably gathered that unknown gunmen, Wednesday evening, invaded Nyong Essien market located within Uyo metropolis.
Eyewitness told this medium that the robbers carted valuables including monies and other shop items before escaping..
“Some armed robbers entered the market with a vehicle carrying solid guns. They walk shop after shop collecting money from traders,” the eyewitness said.
The gunmen after their operation were said to have fired bullets in the air to clear the way for their escape, although no casualty was seen.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relation Officer, SP Odiko Macdon, said the command had released its operatives to all parts of the metropolis to hunt the criminals.
