Assailants slaughter father, son in Kano

Unknown assailants on Monday morning murdered, in cold blood, a middle aged man identified by locals as Malam Nuhu, and his son, Isyaku of Tumfafi village, Garko local government area of Kano state.

Garko, headquarters of Garko local government area of Kano state is 110km Kano south.

Locals who spoke to VerityNews on condition of anonymity said the incident occurred around 2:00am on Monday.

The eyewitness said “the groan from a dying man rudely woke up his son who immediately trailed the assailant. “

The account further explained that “when the assailant noticed he was being trailed , he unleashed terror on the innocent boy and butchered him to death. “

The witness stated that the latest incident came on the heels of “similar attack on the victim two months ago” , adding that “I have a strong suspicion that the first attack has a correlation with the latest one”.

It was not immediately clear whether the first incident was reported to the police by late Malam Nuhu.

The eyewitness who was recorded on tape said the assailant was equally armed with petrol and matches, adding that from indication the unknown attacker wanted to set the house on fire.

He alleged that policemen visited the crime scene on Monday morning, and recovered the corpses before they were released for burial.

The eyewitness said the victims were buried around 9:00am amid wailing by locals.

As at the time of this report, the police in Kano are yet to respond to enquiry sent to known GSM lines of DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the local police image maker.
