Buhari should send bill on restructuring to parliament – Ex-minister of Works

A former Minister of Works in the government of ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo, Senator Adeseye Ogunlewe has urged President Muhammadu Buhari to send a bill on Nigeria’s restructuring to the National Assembly.

Ogunlewe said the calls from several quarters for the restructuring were in the interest of Nigeria’s survival.

He spoke on Sunday while featuring on Channels Television programme, Sunday Politics.

Commenting on the EndSARS protests across the country, Ogunlewe noted that the demands of the protesters were genuine, owing to the numerous governance challenges facing the country.

He criticised the Federal Government for failing to resolve the lingering strike action by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities, which he said had contributed to the groundswell in the participation of youths who had been idle at home.

The former minister advised the President Buhari-led government to prioritise education and youth employment.
