Breaking: Residents invade two stores in Abuja, take away food items, others

Another store located at Gwagwa-Tasha, in Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), has invaded by hoodlums.

They carted away various items, such as bags of grains, sewing machines, mattresses, cartons of milk and tin tomatoes and other items.

The store, which is maintained by the Agriculture and Rural Development Secretariat (ARDS) of the FCTA is used for storage of agricultural products for sales to farmers, at subsidised rates, especially during the planting seasons.

However, the hoodlums, who invaded the facility, removed almost all the agricultural products in the store, even as security agencies, who rushed to the area, could not help the situation.

Earlier, another set of hoodlums, on Sunday, invaded the Idu Industrial Layout in Abuja, raiding several warehouses.

The thugs made away with bags of rice, cartons of tin tomatoes,  cereals, milk, bales of Ankara materials, and other items.

It was observed that despite the presence of policemen, the defiant mob continued to plunder warehouses.

The hoodlums were seen loading tricycles and motorcycles with the stolen goods as policemen fired teargas.
