JUST IN: Nigeria’s judiciary, National Assembly to gulp N110bn, N128bn each in 2021 budget


The sum of N110 billion has been earmarked for the National Judicial Council in the 2021 budget proposal as presented by President Muhammadu Buhari before the National Assembly. 

‌While presenting the appropriation bill before a joint session of the National Assembly at the House of Representatives chamber on Thursday, President Buhari also revealed that the sum of N128 billion has been proposed for the federal lawmakers in the incoming year. 

Earlier, President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, said the National Assembly is ready to pass the 2021 Appropriation Bill before the end of 2020.
Lawan made this known in his opening remarks before Buhari was called to lay the national budget before the joint session of the National Assembly.

“The National Assembly is ready to pass the 2021 budget before the end of the year, by the grace of God,” Lawan said.
