Police rescue man locked up by step-mother for 7 years in Kano

The police in Kano Thursday night rescued a man confined to solitary confinement for seven years by his stepmother in his father’s home at Mariri, outskirt of Kano metropolis allegedly .

A viral video on the internet showed a highly malnourished man whose age can’t be ascertained being evacuated from a dungeon to an unknown health facility in Kano by men of Nigeria police force.

In the heart touching video, the man who simply identified himself as Ahmed aka Na mama was a complete story of waking corpse.

A voice of a woman, who was perhaps the whistle blower in an engaging conversation with Ahmed said “I’ve fulfilled my promise of rescuing you, and I hope you are grateful”

Ahmed in response expressed gratitude to all those who assisted him in time of need.

In a reaction, DSP, Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the Police Public Relations Officer in Kano, confirmed the police were involved in a rescue operation yesterday.

DSP Kiyawa, however said ” the details of the rescue operation is sketchy, but I intend visiting Farawa Division to have one on one with the victim to enable me issue a statement on the saga.”
