Tribute to Alhaji Abdulrazak (SAN) by Tanko Yakasai

By Tanko Yakasai (OFR)

Dear Hairat, I tried to speak with you on the phone over the death of my friend, Alhaji Abdulrazaq, your beloved father, but unfortunately the calls couldn’t get through.

Please accept my heart felt condolences over his demise. He died a fulfilled man with unblemished record and left behind a family that is the desire and pride of any father.

Being the first to be called to the bar from the north is a peak that shall not be repeated for ever. He was among the first generation of lawmakers from our part of the country; a former minister, ambassador and holder of the traditional title of Mutawalle of Ilorin and a member of the highly respected Ilorin ruling dynasty.

He was a friend whose friendship knows no bounds. Late Alhaji Abdulrazaq was one of the leading bridge builders between the north and the southern part of our motherland.

He has every reason to be greatful to Almighty Allah for His multitudes of blessings to him and the family he left behind.

I pray Almighty Allah to grant his gentle soul eternal rest and give the family he left behind courage and fortitude to bear the loss. Amen.
