Buhari’s ex-driver in the army dies, president mourns, condoles Senator Binta

President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with stalwart of the All Progressives Congress, Sen. Binta Masi Garba, over the death of her father, Corp. Garba Tizhe Tumba (Rtd), who worked with the President in the military.

Tumba, who died after a protracted illness in Bazza District, Michika Local Government Council, Adamawa State, served President Buhari as a driver in the army.

The President described him as “a loyal, diligent and respectful soldier’’.

President Buhari has also commiserated with all family members and friends of the deceased, praying that the almighty God will accept his soul, and comfort the family, said the President in a statement signed by Garba Shehu, his spokesman.

Aged 96, Alhaji Garba Tumba died in Yola, Adamawa State fillowing a protracted illness.

He left behind a wife, nine children, many grand & great grand children.Among his children is Hajiya Jamilah Garba, Manager News & Current Affairs of Radio Nigeria, Kaduna,Senator Binta Garba, Ali Garba of Radio Nigeria,Abuja, Musa Garba of National Assembly, Abuja, Amina Garba of office of the Accountant General of the Federation & many others.

He has since been buried.
