Alhaji Aliko Dangote has promised to donate a 600-bed isolation centre to the Kano State Government. The centre is to be constructed at the 15,000 capacity Sani Abacha Stadium.
Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State announced this, during the inauguration of a 38-member fund raising committee on COVID-19.
Ganduje revealed that the richest man in Africa, Aliko Dangote, had requested the state government to provide a facility for him to provide 600 beds and other infrastructure, as his contribution towards the efforts to contain the outbreak of coronavirus in the state.
The isolation centre would be established to complement the two centres meant for quarantine in case of any eventuality.
