Nigeria Odion Ighalo signs on deadline day for Manchester United

Man Utd have signed Odion Ighalo on loan from Shanghai Shenhua on deadline day ahead of today’s fixture with Wolves.

Manchester United completed a late deadline day signing of former Watford striker Odion Ighalo last night.

Ighalo, 30, joins on loan until the end of the season from Shanghai Shenhua, but will not play in the Premier League fixture vs Wolves this evening. Ighalo is due to fly to Manchester in the coming days and could make his debut against Chelsea in two weeks.

The former Watford striker Ighalo, 30, has been playing for Shanghai Greenland Shenhua since 2018. Before that he spent two seasons at Changchun Yatai after his three prolific seasons at Watford.

The Nigerian international has also represented Udinese, Granada and AC Cesena during his career.

Now Ighalo has joined Solskjaer’s squad, we’ve looked at the squad numbers he could take at Old Trafford. His current no.9 shirt at Shanghai is taken by Anthony Martial, with the 24 shirt from his time at Watford also unavailable.
