Novak Djokovic admitted he failed to put Stefanos Tsitsipas under enough pressure after he slipped to a shock defeat in the quarter finals of the Shanghai Masters.
The defending champion looked on course for a routine win when he took the opening three games of the contest in just seven minutes but Tsitsipas battled back from a set down to complete a landmark 3-6 7-5 6-3. Tsitsipas will now take on Daniil Medvedev in the semi-finals after the Russian ended Fabio Fognini eventful run to the last eight following a 6-3 7-6 (7-4) victory.
Djokovic, meanwhile, who had previously never failed to reach the semis in Shanghai, now trails Rafael Nadal by 1,280 points in the battle to end 2019 as world No.1
