NHRC, PCC collaboration yielding results – Ojukwu


The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) and Public Complaints Commission (PCC) have made huge contributions in preventing crisis situations by respectively responding to issues of human rights violations and administrative injustices in the country.

 The Executive Secretary of the NHRC, Tony Ojukwu Esq stated this in Abuja when the Chief Commissioner of PCC, Hon. Chile Igbawua led the management team of the Nigerian Ombudsman in a courtesy visit to the Commission.

Ojukwu stated that both the NHRC and PCC “share similar mandates of protecting human rights, ensuring administrative and social justice”, saying that both organisations have performed tremendously well within the limit of their resources.

Earlier, the Chief Commissioner of PCC, Hon. Igbawua said they were at the commission for consultation and partnership towards addressing administrative injustices and related issues in the country, adding that the similarities in the mandates of NHRC and PCC further necessitates the need for both institutions to work together to better the lots the society.


He used the opportunity to inform the Executive Secretary of  the forthcoming International Ombuds Exhibition which is to be hosted by the PCC in Abuja between 28th and 31st of October, 2019.
