Bizarre: 70-year-old Kaduna Widow Raped

A Kaduna State High Court sitting in Kafanchan has ordered the remand of a farmer, Timothy Ayock, over allegations that he raped a 70-year-old widow.

Ayock was arraigned on two charges, rape and criminal force, under Sections 257 and 237 of the Kaduna State Penal Code Law, 2017.

Prosecuting counsel from the state Ministry of Justice, Daniel Isah, told the court that the incident allegedly occurred on December 26, 2025, in the Tagama community of Zangon Kataf Local Government Area. He said the defendant is accused of forcefully having sexual intercourse with the elderly woman.

The charges were read to the accused, who pleaded not guilty.

Following the plea, the prosecution asked for an adjournment to allow the state present its case.

In a ruling, the presiding judge, Michael Eugene, ordered that Ayock be remanded at the Kafanchan Correctional Centre pending further proceedings. The case was adjourned to March 5 for hearing. (NAN)
