Battle for 2027 Begins, aa ADC Unveils Star-studded 50-Member Policy Team
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has constituted a 50-member Policy and Manifesto Committee, also known as the Wise Men and Women Committee, to develop the party’s policy direction and electoral manifesto.
The committee’s formation followed approval by the party’s National Working Committee and was endorsed by the ADC National Chairman, Senator David A. B. Mark. The move, the party said, is part of efforts to produce a credible, people-driven and forward-looking framework for national governance.
In a statement issued by the ADC National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the party said the committee comprises seasoned Nigerians drawn from politics, academia, public service, civil society and the private sector. According to him, the members bring broad expertise spanning governance, economic policy, social development, security and democratic reforms.
Chief John Odigie-Oyegun will chair the committee, with Professor Pat Utomi named as Deputy Chairman. Salihu Lukman will serve as Secretary.
The party said the committee is expected to craft a clear and practical policy agenda that reflects the aspirations of Nigerians and presents the ADC as a credible alternative for national leadership and renewal.
The committee is scheduled for formal inauguration on Monday, February 2, 2026, at noon, at the Conference Hall of the ADC National Secretariat in Abuja.
Reaffirming its position, the ADC said Nigeria’s current challenges demand ideas anchored on competence, integrity and broad national consensus, expressing confidence that the committee will deliver a manifesto that addresses the real needs of citizens.
The party urged members and stakeholders to take note of the development.
