Gov Yusuf Kicks Off APC E-Registration in Kano, Less Than 24 Hours After Defection
Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, has launched the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic registration exercise in the state, in a move aimed at expanding the party’s membership and strengthening its internal processes.
The launch took place on Monday at the Coronation Hall, Government House, Kano, shortly after the governor’s return to the party. He was accompanied by eight members of the House of Representatives, 21 members of the Kano State House of Assembly and members of the State Executive Council.
According to a statement issued on Tuesday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the governor said the e-registration initiative was designed to promote transparency, inclusiveness and efficiency through the use of technology.
He explained that the digital system would help eliminate multiple registrations, improve accuracy and provide a reliable database reflecting the party’s actual strength across wards, local government areas and the state.
Governor Yusuf called on party members, supporters and intending members to fully participate in the exercise to ensure its success. He also praised APC leaders at the national, state and grassroots levels for embracing digital tools to enhance party administration, urging strict compliance with the exercise’s guidelines.
The e-registration exercise is expected to be rolled out across all wards in Kano State, allowing members to register, update their details and confirm their membership seamlessly.
