Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has congratulated his successor, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on the completion of two years in office, describing the milestone as a testament to continuity, stability and purposeful leadership in the state.

In a congratulatory message issued from Abuja, Bello said Ododo’s second anniversary in office goes beyond marking time, noting that it reflects the consolidation of governance ideals jointly envisioned for Kogi State.

He commended the governor for building on the New Direction Agenda of the previous administration while smoothly transitioning into the Kogi State 32-Year Transformation Plan, which he said has provided a long-term framework for sustainable development.

Bello praised Ododo’s leadership style, describing it as calm, firm and people-centred, and credited his administration with strengthening unity, peace and public confidence across the state. According to him, the governor’s approach to governance has validated the trust reposed in him by the people of Kogi State.

“I am proud of the leader he has become, particularly his servant leadership credentials, which are evident in his commitment to courageous, progressive and people-focused governance,” Bello said.

He urged the governor to remain steadfast and resilient, noting that leadership demands consistency, vision and integrity. Bello added that history rewards leaders who govern with courage and a clear sense of purpose.

On behalf of his family and associates, the former governor felicitated with Ododo on the second anniversary of his administration and prayed for divine health, strength and wisdom to enable him to sustain transformational leadership and good governance.

Bello expressed optimism about the future of the state, saying the best days of Kogi lie ahead and affirming his confidence in Ododo’s capacity to lead the state beyond the current term.
