Atiku’s Son Says Tinubu Has Clear Path to 2027 Victory

Abba Atiku Abubakar, a son of former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is unlikely to face a serious challenge in the 2027 presidential election.

He made the assertion in Yola, Adamawa State, after formally registering as a member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at Gwadabawa Ward in Yola North Local Government Area.

Abba’s comments come amid renewed political activity ahead of 2027, including the declaration of interest by his father, Atiku Abubakar, who is pursuing his presidential ambition on the platform of the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Speaking to party supporters, Abba said President Tinubu’s record in office positions him strongly for a second term. He argued that the president’s leadership style and policy choices have won broad national support.

According to him, Tinubu’s administration has demonstrated inclusiveness, stressing that appointments and decisions are guided by competence rather than ethnic, religious, or regional considerations.

He said his decision to join the APC was informed by what he described as wide-ranging economic reforms and investments in human development under the current administration. Abba also cited infrastructure development and human capital growth across different parts of the country as achievements that influenced his political realignment.

Calling for unity, he urged Nigerians, regardless of party affiliation, to support President Tinubu in order to sustain ongoing reforms and development efforts.

Leaders of the APC in Adamawa State described Abba’s move as a boost to the party, noting that it could strengthen grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general election.

Abba also pledged to work with party structures to mobilise support for President Tinubu’s re-election bid.

Reacting earlier, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said his son’s decision to join the APC was a personal one, separate from his own political choices.

Abba Atiku Abubakar’s defection has continued to generate mixed reactions across political circles nationwide, reflecting the shifting alliances as preparations for the 2027 elections gradually take shape.
