The Kaduna State Government has categorically denied rumors spreading around of creating a Hausa Dynasty in the Zazzau Emirate.
This is contained in a statement from the office of the Kaduna State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Sadiq Mamman Lagos, on January 20, 2026.
According to the statement, which debunks the false reports, Governor Uba Sani has no any plans to establish a Hausa Dynasty in the Zazzau Emirate, and any claims suggesting otherwise are completely false.
The government assured the public that it will not engage in any act that undermines the peace, stability, and traditional structures of Kaduna State.
The fake news report, which was widely circulated on social media, claimed that Governor Uba Sani had approved plans to create a Hausa Royal Dynasty within the Zazzau Emirate.
The Zazzau Emirate has been dominated exclusively by Fulani ruling houses since the Sokoto Jihad of the 19th century. The four recognized dynasties, all of Fulani origin are: the Fulata Borno – Gidan Barebari, Fulata Katsina – Gidan Katsinawa, Fulata Mali – Mallawa Dynasty and Fulata Silsibe – Gidan Sullubawa.
However, the government has urged the public to disregard the misinformation and advised the originator of the fake news to retract the statement immediately.
The Kaduna State government remains committed to maintaining peace and stability in Kaduna State and will continue to work with traditional leaders and other stakeholders to ensure the well-being of all citizens.
