2027: Why APC Must Avoid the Repeat of 2023 ‘Mistake’ – Lagos Assembly Spokesperson

A member representing Oshodi–Isolo Constituency I in the Lagos State House of Assembly, Hon. Ogundipe Stephen Olukayode, has called on leaders and members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oshodi to embrace peace, love, and unity as a strategy to secure a resounding victory for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections.

Ogundipe made the call on Friday while addressing party faithful and community members at the Annual Community Development Initiative organized by Alhaji Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.

The event, held at Ewenla Primary School, Oshodi, witnessed the distribution of over 2,500 bags each of rice and garri, alongside the disbursement of several millions of naira in cash to beneficiaries across Oshodi and its environs.

Reiterating his long-held stance on party unity, the lawmaker stressed that cohesion within the APC remains the most effective means of confronting the political challenges ahead.

According to him, the party must learn from the past and work collectively to improve its electoral performance in Lagos.

“In 2023, our leader and mentor of all of us was not happy with the results we turned out in Lagos. The best way to make him happy this time is to deliver. The only way to deliver is to follow peace with one another in order to achieve good results.”

Ogundipe added, “It is only when we are united as a party that we can return PBAT for a second term. I urge all hands to be on the same deck and remain united.”

Hon. Ogundipe, who also serves as the spokesperson of the Lagos State House of Assembly used the occasion to eulogize and appreciate Akinsanya, the visionary President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), for his consistent commitment to grassroots development and humanitarian service.

In his address, Alhaji Akinsanya reaffirmed his dedication to community service and inclusive development, emphasizing the need for collective effort in driving progress.

He urged APC members and supporters to actively participate in the ongoing nationwide APC party registration and to continue supporting the party’s progressive agenda.

“Peace is the only way to progress,” MC Oluomo emphasized, calling on all stakeholders to make harmony the foundation of political and social development.

The event highlighted the strong collaboration between the NURTW, the community, and government officials, underscoring the power of partnership in achieving meaningful and sustainable change.

It was also aimed at supporting the transformative Renewed Hope agenda of President Tinubu and reinforcing the development strides of Lagos State under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Participants at the gathering hailed President Tinubu’s administration for its commitment to nation-building and praised Governor Sanwo-Olu for his innovative and people-oriented governance in Lagos State.

The atmosphere was charged with optimism, as speakers echoed their confidence in the leadership of both leaders and their vision for a better Nigeria.
