
Bayero University Kano Has Inducted the Fourth Set Of Doctors Of Optometry Under the Faculty Of Allied Health Sciences For the 2023/2024 Academy Session. The Ceremony Held Yesterday Witnessed the Induction Of 55 New Optometrists Into the Noble Profession.
The Event Had In Attendance the Vice Chancellor Of the University, Professor Haruna Musa Who Served As the Chief Host, the Chief Medical Director Of Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Represented By CMAC Professor Suwaid, Principal Officers Of the University, Deans, Directors, Head Of Department, Parents and Well-wishers.
In His Welcome Address, the Host and Provost Of the College Of Health Sciences, Professor Muhammad Yahaya Appreciated the University Management and AKTH For Their Continuous Support. He Congratulated the Inductees And Urged Them To Uphold Excellence In Service To Humanity.
Speaking On Behalf Of AKTH, the Chairman Of the Occasion Congratulated the Graduands And Encouraged Them To Remain In the Country And Contribute To National Development Rather Than Seeking Opportunities Abroad.
Also Addressing the Gathering, the Registrar/CEO Of the Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board Of Nigeria, Dr. Obinna Edwin Awiaka Describe BUK’s Optometry Programme As the Future Of Eye Care In Northern Nigeria. He Appealed For Employment Opportunities And the Establishment Of More Satellite Eye Clinics To Meet Increasing Demand For Eye Health Services.
The Event Ended With Celebration Among Parents, Lecturers And the Freshly Inducted Doctors Of Optometry Who Expressed Readiness To Serve And Improve Eye care Delivery In Nigeria.
