The Kano State Police Command Debunked A Viral Social media Video Claiming The Recent Arrest Of A Suspected Kidnapper Known As “Ali Kwara” Stating That The Footage Is From 2019 And Not A Fresh Incident.
In a Statement Released Yesterday, the Police Public Relations Officer CSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa Said the Video Was Originally Recorded During an Open Media Briefing at the Bompai Police Headquarters in 2019, It Featured Journalists Led by the Late Abubakar Dahiru Yakasai and the Deputy Commissioner Of Polic Operations now Retired CP Balarabe Sule.
According to the Command, the Suspect Ali Kwara Was Arrested at Diga Panshekara Quarters in 2019 For His Involvement in Kidnapping and armed Robbery To Which He Voluntarily Confessed During Investigations. The Video Was Part Of Efforts to Update the Public On Crime Fighting Activities at the Time.
The Command Urged Residents to Avoid Sharing Outdated or Misleading Content Capable Of Creating Fear or Unnecessary Panic.
The Commissioner Of Police CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori Reaffirmed the Command Commitment to Maintain Peace and Security Across the State. He appealed to the Public to Verify Information Before Circulating it and to Report Suspicious Activities to Nearby Police Stations.
