Prof. Joash Ojo Amupitan, SAN, has been confirmed by the Senate as Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) after a grueling three-hour grill.
The Senators asked varied questions possible, after which he was told to take a bow.
The Committee of the whole during the plenary presided over by the President of the Senate Godswill Akpabio, also wanted to know if the professor of law was on President Bola Tinubu’s legal team after his victory was challenged after the 2023 election.
The learned professor replied calmly repudiating that claim. He was thereafter confirmed.
