As Nigeria navigates complex challenges, we urge President Tinubu to be given the opportunity to serve his full two terms. This would allow him to fully implement his agenda, fulfill campaign promises, free from excuses for unfinished work. This would provide a fair assessment of his administration’s progress and hold him accountable for results, good or bad. By giving him a chance to complete his tenure, we can evaluate his performance based on concrete achievements rather than premature judgments.
Can any new government restore the days when fuel was sold for ₦140 per litre? The answer is undoubtedly no. Given this reality, perhaps it’s best for President Tinubu to see through the reforms he initiated, including the fuel subsidy removal, and address the resulting hardships. If given another term, he’ll have a clear mandate to deliver on his promises, and history will indeed judge him based on the outcomes of his policies. The bitter taste of fuel subsidy removal lingers, but let’s hold onto hope that the long-term benefits will outweigh the current hardships, bringing a sweeter aftertaste for all Nigerians.
Let’s give President Tinubu the space to execute his plans and policies over a full term, without making excuses for failure. This will enable us to accurately gauge his administration’s success in meeting campaign promises and addressing national challenges.
