Kidnap, killing of one-year-old: Governor Abba Yusuf praises DSS for arrest of perpetrators

Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has commended the Department of State Services (DSS) for arresting five suspects linked to the abduction and murder of one-year-old Sakina Mamuda in Duhun Bake village, Gwarzo Local Government Area. The suspects allegedly kidnapped the infant, demanded ransom, and then murdered her, disposing of her body in an abandoned well.

In a statement, the governor described the incident as heartbreaking and disturbing, praising the DSS for their swift action. The suspects, all from the same community, are facing investigation for criminal conspiracy, kidnapping, and homicide.

At a joint press conference, the State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Haruna Isa Dederi, vowed that justice would be served swiftly. Governor Yusuf reiterated his administration’s commitment to enhancing security infrastructure and urged residents to remain vigilant and report suspicious activities.

The governor praised the DSS and other security agencies for their decisive action, emphasizing the state’s dedication to ensuring perpetrators face the full wrath of the law.
