
Vice chancellors of universities, rectors of polytechnics and provosts of colleges of education have unanimously rejected 18-year minimum age for admission to Nigerian universities.
The Ministry of Education, Professor Mamman Tahir had suggested 18 years, only for it to be rejected by the general decision at the ongoing 2024 Policy meeting on admissions into Tertiary Institutions/NELFUND being coordinated by JAMB.
After rejecting the minister’s suggestion on the basis that students of such age had already written this year’ JAM, it was eventually pegged at 16-years for admission until next year. Details later…
