The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) arrested over 50 individuals, including a groom-to-be and his friends, during a Bachelor’s eve celebration.
The midnight raid, which commenced around 1 am, resulted in the confiscation of vehicles, laptops, phones, and other items.
Witnesses described the scene as chaotic, with EFCC operatives firing shots into the air and using tear gas to disperse the crowd.
“They were entering the nightclubs and lounges, tear-gassing people, beating them up and arresting them. They didn’t care who you were,” said one of the victims.
Two soldiers were injured during the operation.
