Breaking: Fear grips lawmakers-elect as governor postpones 10th assembly inauguration in Ogun again

There is uncertainty in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital after security operatives ordered already sited guests out of the premises of Ogun state House of Assembly on account of security threat on a day the 10 assembly was scheduled to be inaugurated a second time.

The clerk of the house, Deji Adeyanju, made the fearful announcement at exactly 10:41am over an hour after the entrance to the plenary was locked.

Upon the announcement, police officers walked every persons, including journalists inside the assembly chamber and gallery out of the building.

As at the time of filing this report, security agents were seen swopping machine in the chamber as security check, a situation which had stalled the Inauguration of the 10th assembly.

Recall that the 10th assembly inauguration was postponed last week, over inability of the members-elect to reach a consensus on the speakership position.

While the Ogun state governor is alleged disposed to returning the immediate past speaker of the house, Rt Hon. Olakunle Oluomo, feelers has it that majority of the members-elect which comprises of 8 opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) wanted Hon. Oludaisi Elemide.
