
Former Vice President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo on Sunday visited the family of late founder of First City Monument Bank (FCMB), Otunba Subomi Balogun, in Lagos.

Osinbajo was accompanied in the visit to the residence of the Baloguns in Lagos by Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

The former vice president first of all signed the condolence register before meeting Balogun’s widow, consoling her over the death of her husband.

He also prayed with the entire family, asking God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Otunba Subomi Balogun, the founder of FCMB, died at the age 89 on 19 May, 2023 in London.

He was a Nigerian Yoruba banker and philanthropist who founded First City Merchant Bank, a company that later became the FCMB group. Balogun was a long time member of the council of the Nigerian Stock Exchange.
