The House of Representatives member-elect for Jalingo/Yorro/Zing Federal Constituency in Taraba State, Isma’ila Maihanchi, has been confirmed dead.
The lawmaker-elect died in the early hours of Saturday after a brief illness in Abuja.
This was disclosed in a short statement by the spokesperson of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Andeta’rang Irammae.
He said, “Shortly after the election, the member-elect fell sick and has been receiving medical treatment in Abuja.
“The deceased will be missed not only by the party but the people of the state at large.”
